TRAINING
Specialty Training & Conformation Handling

Picture
At it's a dog's world, we pride ourselves on offering fun and effective training through courses and seminars. Both of these formats test the skills learned in manners classes and hone in on particular issues. They incorporate meaningful, important and unique styles of training necessary to address the issues you are encountering.

Specialty Training Courses

Examples of some of the specialty training we offer throughout the year:
  • AKC Trick Dog: Novice and Intermediate
  • AKC Canine Good Citizen and AKC Community Canine (Advanced CGC)
  • Walk WITH Me: Leash Skills
Class size is limited. For additional information and the descriptions on the above courses view the specialty course description.

Specialty Seminars

Examples of our seminars are:
  • Reliable Recall, Advanced Reliable Recall
  • Leash Walking Skills
  • Surviving Canine Adolescence
  • Understanding Canine Aggression
  • Impulse Control Skills
  • Frustrated Greeters

AKC Community Canine (Advanced CGC). The Community Canine tests your dog in a realistic environment setting such as a class or out and about in the community, rather than being testing in a ring or crafted setting. Examples of test items are loose leash skills at varied speeds and distractions, sit/stay in a small group, "leave-it" food item, down/stay using a 20 ft long line, off-set recalls and meeting strangers carrying items. Dogs must pass all 10 items of the test to receive the CGCA title.

For additional information on the above seminars check out our current event/seminar schedule and click on the seminar of interest for a description.

Conformation Handling. Present your dog in the conformation ring the way professionals do. Beginner through experienced handlers, adults and juniors, are taught how to evaluate their dog, show at their best and
go from winning a class to being Best in Show! Class size
is limited. No “drop-ins”. Seminars on conformation are offered throughout the year.
