Going to Source

with Gail McCarthy

CNWI, NACSW ORT Certifying Official, Judge and Faculty Member

In Nose Work, dogs are taught to “go to source” and the handler needs to be able identify exactly where the “source” is located if asked by a judge at a NW1 Trial.  If you cannot immediately pinpoint based on your dog’s behavior, you will not pass that element.  So, “going to source” is an important component to this sport.  In this Workshop, we will explore the different ways that you can help your dog locate “source” with pin point precision!
When, Saturday, November 12th, 2022
Time: 9:00am - 11:00am
Fee: Participant: $125   Auditor: $60.00

NW3 Only! Clearing and Finishing
Nose Work 3 Trial Rooms

with Gail McCarthy
CNWI, NACSW ORT Certifying Official, Judge and Faculty Member

One of the biggest challenges in competing at the NW3 level is knowing when your dog has found all the hides that have been placed (or not!) in a search area. In this workshop we will explore the different ways you can tell whether your dog has found all of the hides in a search area. You will also learn how to make sure your dog keeps hunting even when there is no odor to encounter.
When: Saturday, November 12th, 2022
Time: 11:30am - 1:30pm
Fee: Participant: $125   Auditor: $60.00
